GEEK 2015 - Interactive Experience - Real-life-point-and-click Adventure

Ever thought what it would be like getting sucked into a painting? No me neither, but then again this seems interesting.

"Take part in a real-life point-and-click video game that journeys through art history."

So what's all this actually about then?
Well...
Misuse of an experimental machine capable of sending people INSIDE works of art has dangerous consequences. The faces have disappeared from some of history’s most beautiful and significant self-portraits due to a slight mishap during a test flight of Endless Horizon Ltd's innovative new venture into Art Tourism.

Audiences are invited to join the team behind this experimental machine to rectify this terrible situation, enlisting the help of the Flemish, 17th Century, court painter Sir Anthony van Dyck, travelling through time, genres and styles to save the canon of art.

"Endless Horizons Ltd. have developed an incredible machine that is capable of sending people INSIDE works of art. One day the machine will make it possible for holiday-makers to catch a mini-break arranging Van Gogh’s sunflowers, bathing on Turner’s beaches or swimming in Warhol’s tomato soup."

"To test the machine Endless Horizons Ltd. have acquired three famous self-portraits from the Turner Contemporary's latest exhibition, Self: image and Identity, and now they just need a group of willing test subjects to make the maiden journey..."

Project director Simon Ryninks: “The Milo Wladek Co. creates narratives that bring together many art forms to give audiences a truly interactive experience. For The Van Dyck Vanishments, we’re creating a real-life video game in the vein of classics like Monkey Island and Broken Sword. Combining film, installation, performance and puzzles, we’re exploring the themes of self-expression and identity that run through the cannon of self portraiture. We’re also creating a downloadable digital app and a boardgame version of the narrative, to engage as many people as possible with its themes and ideas. This is a sprawling, slightly bonkers, but very cool project to be a part of. We’re really looking forward to being let loose on Margate!”
