Batman v Superman - Dawn of Justice Official Trailer

The trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was screened live via YouTube at the Star Wars Celebration giving fans their first glimpse at the return of Han and Chewie; this fanboygasim moment went onto dominated the internet.
DC and WB had teased the release of their trailer's IMAX premier on Monday, however shortly after the Star Wars trailer hit the net so did a leaked version of Batman v Superman's trailer; filmed on a smart phone, at what appeared to be a press screening in a foreign market?

With the premier of Avengers: Age of Ultron being the big story, for but a few days, movie fans turned their attention away from Marvel's summer blockbuster and remembered the true franchise to rule them all STAR WARS!!!
The timing of the release of the Force Awakens trailer seemed to overshadow the Avengers sequel, which hits theatres in the UK on May 1st, Disney appeared to have cock block themselves.
However it was a genius master stroke of marketing!

Yes Star Wars has detracted from the hype surrounding the return of the the Avengers, yet it has virtually neutralised the impact of the Dawn of Justice trailer!
In fact not only has it nullified DC's attempt to overshadow the release of Age of Ultron, the tone and style of the Star Wars trailer has left fans enthralled by the notion of a lighter, fun, action adventure and they seem very much opposed, it would appear, to seeing another dark, gloomy screen outing for beloved characters, as presented by Warner.
Add to this mix the fact that Universal are dropping the latest trailer for their entry into the franchise wars, Jurassic World on Monday, it would appear that DC had been completely double teamed!

The leaked trailer has taken the "wow" factor out of the Dawn of Justice trailer, rather than the grand "here it is" accompanied by a Han Zimmer bwwwaaaammm, we now have an official release in HD via Warner's official YouTube channel, not because they wanted to, but because they had no choice.
I feel it is a real shame.
This movie has been controversial with fans since casting announcements were made; the internet lost its shit over Batffleck!!!
Yet it deserved a grander first look.

So now it is officially here, with less of a bang and more of a whimper, what do I think?
Well....I love it!
Just as fans are sick of dark interpretations being the "thing to do" in recent years, I want the next 18 months of films to deliver a mixed bag.
I want light and quirky, tense and gripping, funny and smart, and dark and angst ridden in equal measures.
Oh and the real loser in all of this is the Terminator re-boot, prequel, alternate timeline disaster; that trailer was one of the worst pieces of movie promotional material in movie history.

Poltergeist 2015 - Trailer First Look

I admit this remake slipped right under my radar! I didn't even realise they were doing this one!
As much as I love Sam Rockwell as an actor ,I have to ask why re-make this property?
Poltergeist (1982) is one of the greatest horror films, in fact films in general, of all time and I can't really see how this is bringing anything new to the table?
The style and modern emphasis on in your face jump scares and OTT SFX is not really what the original was about. The 1982 Tobe Hooper movie was slow paced and truly gripping viewing!
I must admit that the producers did a solid job re-making The Grudge; and achieved the impossible in making a film that entered into the canon of one of horrors most iconic franchises when they released the Evil Dead (2013), mostly due to Sam's deligence.
I just do not think that this is going to be another win for the team at Ghost House?
And I say this as one of Sam Raimi's number one fanboys!
  • Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi and director Gil Kenan reimagine and contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.

Daredevil Coming to Netflix UK

Netflix, not satisfied with bringing down video rental giants like Blockbuster, are now well under way in expanding their library of online streaming content with original/exclusive productions.

Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard, of The Cabin in the Woods fame have collaborated to bring Matt Murdock to the screen for the first time since Ben Affleck's 2003 stinker.

Daredevil is set for a 13-episode season and thankfully will be available upon release in all countries serviced by Netflix.

Daredevil is a fictional character, a superhero that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, with an unspecified amount of input from Jack Kirby, and first appeared in Daredevil #1 (April 1964).
Living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, Matt Murdock is blinded by a radioactive substance that falls from an oncoming vehicle. While he no longer can see, the radioactive exposure heightens his remaining senses beyond normal human ability. His father, a boxer named Jack Murdock, supports him as he grows up, though Jack is later killed by gangsters after refusing to throw a fight. After donning a yellow and dark red, and later an all dark red costume, Matt seeks out revenge against his father's killers as the superhero Daredevil, fighting against his many enemies including Bullseye and the Kingpin. Daredevil's nickname is "the Man Without Fear".
While Daredevil had been home to the work of comic-book artists such as Everett, Kirby, Wally WoodJohn Romita, Sr., andGene Colan, among others, Frank Miller's influential tenure on the title in the early 1980s cemented the character as a popular and influential part of the Marvel Universe. Daredevil has since appeared in many various forms of media including several animated series, video games and merchandise, and the 2003 feature-length film Daredevil, where he was portrayed by Ben AffleckCharlie Cox will play Daredevil in Marvel's upcoming Daredevil live-action television series set to premier April 2015.
What can we expect from this new incarnation? Well it looks set to be a slower burn towards the iconic red suit and should be a solid adaptation for a contemporary audience, like how Arrow and The Flash have brought new DC Universe to the small screen.

Minions (2015) - Trailer 3 First Look

This year everyone's favourite little yellow, banana loving, gibberish uttering Minions return to the big screen in their own feature length adventure.
This time the plot takes us to a time long ago for the Minions, a time before they supported Gru in his endless quest for world domination.
I must admit I was late to the Despicable Me party, but I love these little freaks!
In two movies (third coming this year) they have taken over pop culture and are genuine classic characters already!
This generation's Oompa Loompas? And I don't mean the Tim Burton rubbish version!

This new trailer gives more of what to expect from what I am sure will be the animated blockbuster of the Summer.
UK release : 26th June!

"The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's Minions begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters-from T. rex to Napoleon-the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he-alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob-ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award® winner Sandra Bullock), the world's first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind...from annihilation. Featuring a soundtrack of hit music from the..." -by Universal Pictures

John Wick - UK Trailer

Keanu Reeves is back! This time as retired Hit Man in "John Wick", A stylish tale of Revenge and Redemption.

After the sudden death of his beloved wife, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) receives one last gift from her, a beagle puppy named Daisy, and a note imploring him not to forget how to love. But John’s mourning is interrupted when his 1969 Boss Mustang catches the eye of sadistic thug Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) who breaks into his house and steals it, beating John unconscious and leaving Daisy dead. Unwittingly, they have just reawakened one of the most brutal assassins the underworld has ever seen.

John’s search for his stolen vehicle takes him to a side of New York City that tourists never see, a hyper-real, super-secret criminal community, where John Wick was once the baddest guy of all.

Released in the tail end of 2014 in the States, John Wick was a Box Office success grossing almost $100 million on a budget of just $20 million, the Film was also a hit with critics who praised Reeves as the titular character.

Age of Ultron (2015) - Trailer 2 - Avengers vs Ant-Man

Ant-Man who?
This was always going to be Marvel's biggest problem of 2015.
Not only do Marvel and Disney have to deliver a film that is bigger, bader and better than the first outing of The Avengers, but they also have to, at least attempt to, top Guardians of the Galaxy.

Now that in itself is a tough task, what is even tougher is making sure everyone still remembers that there is this movie about a man and ants, or whatever, coming out as well.
The internet went crazy for Ant-Man, well it had time to go crazy for all of about 3 seconds since this bombshell drops mere days later.
Now I know that Marvel had Captain America: The Winter Soldier come out last year, then that was followed by Guardians of the Galaxy, however that's a different kettle of Aquaman compared to this year's releases.
This is like DC and Warner scheduling in an, as previously mentioned, Aquaman movie in the same summer as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!

A generic, by-the-numbers origin story is not going to cut it this summer, not considering it is going up against the insane franchise schedule that we are being treated to in 2015.
It's a real shame as I really like Paul Rudd, he's been the Chris Pratt in waiting for years and now when he gets hit shot, well damn if Star-Lord hasn't already shat all over that chance.

I want Ant-Man to do well, but I just can't see it making an impact at the box office, human-sized or any size, well maybe an ant-sized impact.
The true hope for Ant-Man faded when Edgar Wright left the project. At least with Wright at the helm we could have got something innovative that, although not commercially successful, would have become a major cult sensation and had the same re-watch value as Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Instead we may get an Amazing Spider-Man 2 experience :(

Anyway The Avengers are back and going Empire Strikes Back for the sequel!

"When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for a global adventure." - Marvel Studios

UK cinemas get this film on 24th April 2015

Films To Check Out In 2015 - IT FOLLOWS (2015)

The David Robert Mitchell horror received a showing at the London Film Festival in 2014 and has been hailed as a saviour come to reinvigorate the genre once more.
With fans being less than impressed by last years Annabelle and Ouija, the latter being rated at only 7% fresh, the horror genre seemed to, once again, be stuck in "formula" mode, simply regurgitating the same old guff; spin-offs, prequels, sequels and copy cats of previously "innovative" films with a heavy dose of jump scares employed over true tension and duh horror.
Other than the incredible The Babadook, 2014 was not a vintage year for horror films.

"After a strange sexual encounter, a teenager finds herself haunted by nightmarish visions and the inescapable sense that something is after her." - Radius-TWC

Starring Maika Monroe, who starred in the other fan favourite from 2014 The Guest, It Follows comes across as a truly unsettling experience.
The film hits UK Theatres February 27th 2015.

Chappie (2015) - First Look Trailer 2

What do you get when you let the visually acute director of the surprise 2009 smash hit District 9 loose with a project about artificial intelligence and robots?
You get Chappie, a blend of Robocop and Short Circuit!

Check the latest trailer below...

"Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings - some good, some bad - and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there's one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever." - by Sony Pictures Entertainment

Neill Blomkamp has stood out since 2009 as a director who really has his own solid style. Chappie (2015) stars Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver and Dev Patel, all top rated actors.
However the real excitement will be to see Sharlto Copley going head to head with Andy Serkis (not in the film I mean in acting terms) as he delivers a motion capture performance in the titular role.
From what I see in the trailer I think the District 9 actor will nail it!
The Short Circuit films have a special place in my heart and it's no secret Robocop (1987) is one of my favourite films of all time, so I can not wait to see this one.

Chappie will be in UK Theatres on 6th March 2015.

New Trailer for "Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie" Drops!

The lovable characters from the "Peanuts" comic strip are set to hit the big screen once again this year in "Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie", and to celebrate the folks over at Fox Family Entertainment UK have just dropped a brand spanking new trailer, which in my opinion looks absolutely fantastic!

Ant-Man (2015) - First Look Trailer

ANT-MAN...ANT-MAN...DOES WHATEVER AND ANT-MAN CAN!

Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.-  Marvel.com

Marvel gives us the first proper look at their latest big screen adaptation.
Fans were up in arms when Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Hot Fuzz) left his directorial duties.
So how is the now Payton Reed helmed project looking? Well see for yourself and let us know what you think?

On paper this would appear to be less of a gamble than when Marvel released Guardians of the Galaxy this summer. Ant-Man is a traditional comic book adaptation in line with what Marvel and DC have been doing for decades, whereas Guardians was a lavish space opera, action, comedy.
Both projects feature lesser known Marvel characters, however Marvel have a golden track record of the simple hero origin story saving the day which has been a winning formula; space operas have stung even their master, George Lucas, in the ass in recent memory, ie the prequel trilogy and John Carter.
However Guardians was an overwhelming hit on every level.
So how will Ant-Man do? I have no idea?
It will either be another trip to the bank for Marvel and Disney or get crushed under foot by the behemoth line up 2015 is offering fans.

Ant-Man is the name of several fictional characters appearing in books published by Marvel Comics. Ant-Man was originally the superhero persona of Hank Pym, a brilliant scientist who invented a substance that allowed him to change his size. Hank Pym was created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Tales to Astonish #27 (Jan. 1962); his first appearance as Ant-Man was in Tales to Astonish #35 (Sept. 1962).

After Pym retired his Ant-Man identity, successors Scott Lang and Eric O'Grady have used Pym's technology to take on the role of Ant-Man.

ANT-MAN hits UK theatres 17th July 2015.
Starring: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Hayley Atwell, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, John Slattery and Corey Stoll.

Will "Entourage" be the best Movie of 2015? - Watch the trailer here!

The Boys are back! Vincent chase and his crew return, only this time it is on the big screen!

Synopsis:
Movie Star Vincent Chase, together with this boys, Eric, Turtle and Johnny are back ... and back in business with suger agent turned studio head Ari Gold. Some of their ambitions have changed, but the bond between them remains strong as they navigate the capricious and often cut throat world of Hollywood

2015 is lining up to be one of Hollywood's strongest years in a very long time, with new additions of the Star Wars, Jurassic Park & Avengers franchises it is going to be almost impossible to keep movie goers out of the Cinema. So I put the question to you;

Will Entourage be the best Movie of 2015?

I have been a huge fan of the HBO series since day one, with its mix of characters the shows elements appeal to most people in one way or another. Entourage which ran from 2004 to 2011 was dubbed Sex and the City for males, A Movie star and his lifelong friends running around Hollywood living the high life, every Man's dream right?

But being tagged as the Males Sex and the City I feel the show was served and injustice at the start, Just like the ITV's terrible marketing for Supernatural in the UK, The label singled out an entire sex. But as the seasons went on it became clear that Entourage's female fan base was growing.

Anyway, back to the Movie. Entourage was one of them shows that never grew tired and could have gone on for another 5 seasons easily. It gives me so much joy seeing Johnny Drama and Ari Gold back in the new trailer, the best part is that unlike certain TV Show Movies or Revivals, Entourage feels fresh and most of all a very welcome addition to 2015.

Now I would be a fool to say that it will be the best movie of 2015, Especially with Jurassic World dropping next year. But I will say now that it will definitely be up there in the Top 3, not Box Office but Films of the year!

Check out the Trailer and Poster for the "Film within a Film" Hyde starring Vincent Chase below!

Directed by Doug Ellin, Entourage will hit UK screens next June and stars Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, Jeremy Piven, Billy Bob Thornton & Haley Joel Osment
